Welcome - Podcast - Episode #1

Updated: Jul 25, 2022

Listen to the podcast here

Welcome to the first podcast for Health Kaizen, quite honestly, it’s my first ever podcast. I’m calling the podcasts “A Walk On The Beach”. Thank you for joining me as I walk along the beach near my home and share clinical pearls every other week with the summary in a blog on the opposite weeks.

I will be recording the podcasts every 2 weeks until Labor Day, which isn’t that far away now, then they will be weekly! I want to filter the current scientific and medical research as well as clinical information pertinent to our practices and funnel it to you through podcasts, blogs, Clinical Rounds, and monthly webinars. Providing information that will resonate with you. Helping you to stay current without drawing time away from family, friends, your practice, and leisure time!

Education has always been something that I am insanely passionate about as I understand firsthand that it's not always easy to keep up with the latest research, topic, or testing available. Health Kaizen will keep you informed on your schedule 24/7 365 days a year.

In the 3 -5-minute podcasts I will discuss clinical conditions we are faced with every day in our clinics as health care practitioners. The initial topics I will be covering are: inflammation, Epigenesis, reactive oxygen species or free radicals, and then mitochondria which are the power source for all cells. It is the interaction of these 4 events or processes that affect and are at the root cause of most chronic conditions.

Future topics will include: stress, weight loss, the microbiome, stealth infections, fatigue, GERD or Acid Reflux, acne. ADD/ADHD and the list goes on. As I receive suggestions from you topics will be added, but we will come back to our core topic schedule. In the Blog I will list the topics in the order I am planning them. I will cover conditions you encounter everyday and what you can do to help or mitigate them.

As I go through the specific conditions we will be discussing I will give a very brief overview of the pathophysiology, diet and lifestyle factors which may be involved and how to treat it. I will provide you clinically relevant information that you can use right away the next morning.

Our goal as healthcare practitioners is to recognize and identify patterns of internal chemistry, toxicity, and nutritional deficiencies, as early as possible, which if corrected now will lead to Optimum Health and an improved quality of life. If left uncorrected, they may become full-blown diseases later. Perhaps, requiring dangerous drugs and/or surgery to prolong life, and most likely diminishing quality of life to a mere survival mode.

Functional Medicine has transformed my experience as a clinician, and has provided me with innovative clinical tools to prevent and reverse chronic diseases. It is an approach that focuses on identifying and treating the “Root Cause” that very often leads to dysfunction and dis-ease.

By addressing inflammation, epigenetics, reactive oxygen species (free radicals), and mitochondrial dysfunction as well as the microbiome imbalances, stress, unhealthy lifestyle choices, and more – We can live life Aging Gracefully and Dying with Dignity. I invite you to continue to explore this model, which is improving outcomes for patients

We are on a mission to improve the health of the individuals and their families which we have the privilege of serving. To help those with chronic illness regain, maintain, and enhance the quality of their life for this, as well as future generations – Effectively, Safely, and Naturally.

Health Kaizen is about taking you from where you are now to where you want to be as a healthcare practitioner! Let’s put Health back in healthcare!
